Copper Portrait III

As I painted these portraits on copper and aluminum, I was drawn to the idea of disappearance—of forms dissolving quietly into their backgrounds. The surfaces reflect and shift with light, requiring the viewer to move around, to look closely, and return again in order to fully see each face. This mirrors the layered, elusive nature of human identity. We rarely present our whole selves to the world. Out of protection, survival, or habit, we reveal fragments—sometimes only our light, sometimes only our shadow.
